How to Create Windows 10 Bootable Pendrive using linux machine .

Creating Bootable pendrive using windows we all know very well . In windows platform we have different types of options to create a Windows or any operating system's Bootable media for installing operating system in another computer . But what to do if you have a Linux machine . In Linux you not gona get a proper application or method to make your pen-drive  bootable.  Because Windows operating system use NTFS file system while Linux use mostly ext4 file system to boot the operating system . Also Windows support FAT partition style . But it's better to use a NTFS file system to do the process . Well in this blog i am going to show ' How to create a Windows 10 Bootable Pendrive using linux machine . Well in this blog i am going to use a Ubuntu machine but it will work mostly all the other Linux distributions or other flavor of Linux . 

To create a Windows 10  Bootable pendrive using your linux machine you need  main file means that Windows 10's iso file . 

STEP 1

Go to Microsoft official  website and download the iso file to continue the process or simple click on this link to download iso file .   Click here

STEP 2 :- 

 Now simply open your terminal by pressing ( CTRL + ALT + T ) key on your keyboard . And after that type the following command to installing repository in your system .

Sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mkusb/ppa 

STEP 3 :- 

Now type your computer's password to run this command .

STEP 4 :- 

After installation will complete then type update command to start updating your repository .

sudo apt update 

STEP 5 : -

Now you installed a new repository in your pc so in order to use you have to run upgrade command .

Sudo apt upgrade 

STEP 6 :- 

Okay now it's time to install the application to make pendrive bootable . And that is " mkusb " . By using this command : 

Sudo apt install mkusb 

Then type Y to install the application .

 

STEP 7 :- 

Now add your pendrive into your pc . and then open " mkusb " application from your application list or you can do same thing in terminal also . Just type this simple command .

sudo mkusb-dus 

Now tap on " ok " button to open the application . 

STEP 8 :- 

After that choose option named "install ( make a boot device ) " to make pendrive bootable.

 

STEP 9 :-

Now slecect " extracting Windows installer " option to start the process . 

STEP 10 :- 

Now choose the file type means if you have any older windows iso file like windows 7 or older . Unless choose the first option " New version version , works.." option and then press " ok " . 

Then choose your Windows 10 iso file and then tap on ok button . 

STEP 11 :-

It's time to for selecting your pendrive to boot your operating system . unless it will automatically choose your pendrive . So then click ok button .

STEP 12 :- 

 Now it's final step to do. Simple tap on Go option to start your process .
