1. What is kernel ?

    The kernel is a computer program at the core of the computer's operating system that has complete control over everything in system . Like the base platform or an monitor . 

2. What is grep command ?

Ans.: It is a search command that helps to find any particular file from a long text or in a list . 

3.How you terminate a running process ?

Ans.:  Every process in a system is identified by a uniqe process id or PID value . Then we need to enter kill command along   with that pid value . 

like --kill -9 tomcat ( force kill ),   kill 3565 ( for normal kill )

Ans.: Boot loader is a piece of script that loads before the operating system boot . In Linux's boot loader is called grub boot loader.

warm boot - When a system start booting after some system crashes or some driver error without being switch off .

9. What is the first process run in linux ?

Ans.:  Under the unix system the first process with having PID value 1 is called init . And under linux system the first process

10. How to check log file in a linux system ?

Ans.:  System log can viewd by going cd/var/log directory. After that ls command for listing all the log file . One of common command for getting log file is syslog .
