How to Connect a Virtual Disk to your pc | Cloudpradeep | How to add Virtual HDD.

Hi everyone, welcome back to another blog. well in this blog I am going to show you. How to connect a virtual hard disk to your local pc. It is most important when you are running out of space and you don't have an extra hard disk to store your important file, at that time you can try this. 

For this, you require some pre requests things. And that is:- 

                    1.  You have to unlock VT or virtual platform service on your Pc.

                    2.  Hyper v should be enabled.  

  Step 1:-  

• Go to your Bios and Enable Virtual Technology service. It may vary with different Bios of your system. 

Step 2:-

•  Open your Run command by using Windows + R   and type diskmgmt.msc inside the blank area and then tap on Ok. 

Step 3:- 

• After running the above command it will open the disk management console page. at the t, op you will find an option named Action just tap on it, and then select Create VHD option. If you have an existing hard disk then you can select 2nd option named Attach VHD. 

 

Step 4:- 

• Now select the destination path that you want to store your Virtual Hard disk.  Don't worry it will not take much space, unlike another hard disk. It is an imaginary disk so the size of this HDD is may under KB size.  

Step 5:- 

• Now select the size of the disk that you want to use. Like I have given 5GB of space ofthe  this HDD. 

• I have given Document path as the destination folder and format option and type is in  VHDX, and disk type is set to Dynamically expanding. 
• You can choose as you want for your virtual disk, then just click on the Ok button to complete your steps. 

Step 6:- 

• Now it will show inside our Disk-management console window.  first, we have to initialize this disk, and then we can create a partition in it.  
• To active the Hard-Disk just Right-click on the disk name and then select initialize option.
• It will take some Copple of second to active, wait for some sec.  

Step 7:- 

 

• After Initializing next we have to create a partition in unallocated space. To create just right-click on it and select the New Simple volume option after that click on next option to follow the below steps.

• Now add the partition size and click on the Next button. 

Step 8:-  

• Now select the Drive Letter and click the Next button. 
• After that add your drive's Name that you want to show on your Pc and click the Next button.

Step 9:- 

• Now Verify all the disk status is correct or not, if not then click on the Back option and fix that issue. 
• If all are okay then click on the Finish option.  
• Now open your Windows Explorer and you will able to find the disk in your explore window.
