Hi Everyone, this is gonna be a simple and most useful feature that you can use in a Microsoft Excel workbook. While you are creating some important data in an excel sheet, you probably think 🤔 about what if anyone can access your file without your permission, so to prevent it, we can use Sheet protection inside an Excel sheet. But what if we want to use a password, to ask every time whenever we or someone opens that file. As we are using now a day app lock features in our smartphones, can we use the exact same thing on a Doccument file on our pc?

Then the answer is " yes ", we can use the password in an entire Excell workbook file. SO in this blog, I am gone share with you How to Protect an Excel File with a password. So there are multiple ways to use this feature, which means there are several third parties software available to use the same kind of thing, but we are gonna use the native method to lock our Excel sheet.

If anyone opens our excel file at that time it will prompt a password screen to enter. After that, if that person knows the right password then he/she can use the workbook, otherwise not.

We need to follow 3 simple steps to use it. Just follow the below steps to use.

STEP 1:

Open an Excel workbook, click on File, Option as given arrow mark in below picture.

STEP 2: 

Now Clik on Info and then Select the Protect Workbook box and choose Encrypt with Password.

STEP 3:

Now Choose the Encrypt With password option.

STEP 4:

Now Enter a password in the Password box, and then select OK.

STEP 5 : 

Now reenter the same password to confirm it.

Now try to open the file again, it will now promote a password, screen to use it. Enter the same password and click on Ok.  You will be able to see your excel sheet again.
